AI prompts that produce usable post ideas
Prompts that generate ideas you can actually publish, instead of fifteen variations of "share a tip".
By the Sosial team
Most idea prompts fail because they ask for ideas without giving the model anything to work from. A model with no material produces the average of everything it has read.
The structure that works
Give it four things: who you are, who you are talking to, what actually happened recently, and what shape the output should take.
- Who: "I run a two-person bookkeeping studio."
- Audience: "Sole traders who dread tax season."
- Material: "Three clients asked the same question about receipts this month."
- Shape: "Ten post ideas, each one sentence, no hashtags."
Then push for specificity
Ask a follow-up: "rewrite these so each mentions a concrete number, tool or deadline." Generic ideas survive this prompt badly, which is exactly the point — you want them to fail so you can drop them.
Keep the misses
Save the ideas you reject. A prompt that produces two good ideas out of ten is a good prompt if you keep the other eight for later.
