The daily checklist for a social media manager

A 25-minute morning routine that keeps the queue healthy and the replies answered.

By the Sosial team

Most social media management is maintenance, and maintenance benefits enormously from a fixed routine. This one takes about 25 minutes.

The routine

  • 5 min — check what published overnight. Confirm nothing failed.
  • 5 min — clear the approval queue. Approve or send back with a note.
  • 10 min — reply to comments and messages on the posts from the last 48 hours.
  • 5 min — confirm tomorrow is scheduled and the queue is at least three deep.

What to do when something failed

A failed post is usually an expired token or a rejected format. Reconnect the channel, fix the media, and reschedule. Do not delete and rewrite — that loses the original timing.

Once a week, not once a day

Numbers reviewed daily produce anxiety, not insight. Review performance once a week, on the same day, and write one sentence about what to change.
